I’ve been to ALOT of pop up museums and I would have to say The Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco was by far THE BEST!! From the moment you walk into this museum you feel like all your problems have just gone away, which WAS GREAT as experiences such as these are supposed to be an escape from the every day or traditional museum. What made it soo good you might ask? Well read on, I’ll tell you! The Rooms - There were soo many different rooms and ALL of them were uniquely different. Loved Marye’s Diner for the 50s Soda Shop Feel. Their Word Room gave me a chance to express myself. The magical light in the Unicorn Room was soo pretty!! There was a Chocolate Mint Room that smelled just like mint!! The Circus Animal Cookie Room was too cute, loved that you could ride these nostalgic cookies!! And of course what would MOIC be without the infamous Sprinkle Pool (I literally left with sprinkles EVERYWHERE!!)! No detail was too small for the creators of the Museum of Ice Cream and it showed! There were no feelings of them just wanting to add in an extra room (which I have felt in other museums). Every room existed for a reason even their newest Circus Animal Cookie Room. The People - Everyone who works at MOIC is brilliant, from the ticket taker to the gift shop cash register person. People TRULY make an experience even better and I didn’t even know I needed them to be apart of my experience before they just were. The rooms being soo uniquely different offered different personality types before entering a room. It was fun interacting with the “room guard” before being let in to PLAY in that particular room…they told stories, had you forget your problems, made you participate in silly animal sounds (I believe I said Cah Cawww to be let into the Gummy Bear Room), and truly made you apart of “The Show”. The Treats - And of course you can’t go to MOIC without expecting some sweet treats. Each room offered a different story which of course requires a different sweet treat to go with it. Everything was perfectly curated too! I believe I had everything from chocolate chocolate to mint chocolate chip mochi to gold glittered cotton candy (BY FAR MY FAVORITE), they even did a throw back pop rocks candy treat. I was in sweet treat heaven. The Museum of Ice Cream appeals to ALL of the senses. I walked out of this magical place on a SUGAR HIGH. Well worth a trip to San Francisco before they close their doors. Hope you enjoy all the photos (look for the fully edited versions on my instagram) and that you get to make your way to see this museum if you haven’t already. BUT, until then, I’d love to hear which room you would be most excited to have a “photo shoot” in! Xoxo, @kellithinks

When I found out there was going to be a Mermaid Museum in Los Angeles, I couldn't have been more excited!! There's just something about these mystical creatures that's just absolutely amazing. I initially fell in love with Disney's The Little Mermaid version. Ariel was GREAT and who didn't want to be "Apart of Her World?". But as I grew older there was something amazing about the OTHER Mermaid Tales. Mermaid's Were My Spirit Animal, I mean come on they're... 1. Mysteriously Beautiful and Can Sing 2. Powerful and Fast 3. They Don't let Everyone in on Their Secrets 4. They Have a Don't Mess With Me Attitude Those are #goals, who doesn't want to be all of those things?! LOL. Needless to say I'm very excited about Freeform's Newest show addition called Siren. These are definitely not your Disney Mermaids AND I'm okay with that, it's fun to tell a different story every now and then. Here's what you should know about these mystical creatures called Sirens (All info found on Fandom). "The main difference between mermaids and Sirens is that the latter are predators and killers. Seducing men with their voices and bodies. Mermaids may not necessarily kill men, like Sirens do." And one of my favorite abilities of Siren's is their song. "Sirens are able to emit a captivating singing voice that lures anyone who hears it. Sirens usually sing their Siren songs to seduce and kill men." Now do you understand why I'm so captivated? I mean that's the ultimate super power. Now back to the museum, they did a great job showing us the city of Bristol Cove "The Mermaid Capitol of the World" in their entrance and then it opened up into a room that had different instagram worthy photo ops. One of my favorite parts of the room that was hard to capture on film was their Siren they had swimming in a tank for all to see. They even broke down the Siren's Anatomy and Abilities that I'll include in the pics below. Overall this Mermaid Museum did a great job drawing in a new mermaid crowd and introducing us to a Siren's World. My hope is that they make this an actual museum and go even more into the history of mermaids and Siren's. That would be incredibly fun! Until then, I'm definitely tuning in to watch Siren on Freeform this Thursday, March 29th. Don't forget to check out all the fun pics and comment below if you'll be watching too! Xoxo, @kellithinks You don’t have to be a super hero to change the world! There are many ways to make an impact, but how do you choose to make a difference? And do you want to just donate money that helps a now problem or do you want to make a lasting change in someone’s life and future? There are many things that you can choose to do in this world to make a difference, so how do we decide which one? Personally, when I’m looking at organizations to give back to I want to know that my money is making a difference and a lasting change. Wristsponsible is an organization that does just that. They’ve chosen to focus on making sure people in this world have access to safe and clean water, something that many of us take for granite. If you think about it, we use water in almost everything…to shower, wash our faces, brush our teeth, cook our food, make that much needed cup of coffee in the morning, amongst other things as well, and all we have to do is turn a knob to get it. For some people and communities, it's not that easy. Someone (oftentimes young women) will have to go out and walk miles to find water that’s not even drinkable. So, not only do they have to gather it, but they have to go through a "sanitation process" that isn't really making their water very sanitary. This is just no way to live! But there are already organizations that help with these problems that we can just donate money to, so how is Wristsponsible different? Read my three reasons below…
And just one more thing I love about this organization is that one of creators behind the idea, Kevin Sofen, goes into these places to volunteer himself to make a change. Have to love someone who stands behind their platform 100%. So what are you waiting for, go be #wristsponsible and make an impact in someone's life and in a communities future. Rewind a bit, I was a workaholic who only cared about getting to the next level of my career and making money. Nothing wrong with that, but I was not living a balanced life. I wasn’t dating, I barely saw my friends, AND I wasn’t seeing new places. I finally got burned out and decided the best way for me to recover was to go on an overseas adventure! At the time I had always wanted to go to London, and I was going to make that happen. And I did! I had the best time of my life experiencing Europe and I caught the “Wanderlust Bug” and couldn’t wait to go back. I work in production in the Entertainment Industry, so I’m great at planning things. So when traveling became my “new thing” I may have gone a bit overboard figuring out the best traveling tips. Now, I want to share them with you because whether you’re going solo traveling or with a group there’s no need to stress about your travels and there’s almost ever No Need to go through a travel agent if you do your research. I’ll be covering… Group Tours Road Trips Cruises Solo Traveling Hope you get inspired this March and plan your next adventure soon! Xo, @kellithinks |
